Bahamas Hotel, Resort & Villa Reviews

Atlantis 09/05/03
Reviewers Rating: Great
My wife and I honeymooned at Atlantis Royal Towers recently. It was a wonderful and unique experience with plenty to see and do. The Royal Towers is luxurious and the view from our hotel room onto the Myan temple, lagoon and stringray pool was picture perfect. This really is the place to stay on Paradise Island.

We visited the casino every night, which got a little costly, but was great fun. The Comedy club is also worth a visit. I would also recommend a trip to the Ocean Club golf club for a round of golf. We love dining out and booked tables at Atlantis's 'gourmet' restaurants Fathoms, Villa Este and the Bahamian Club. We could not get a booking at the Courtyard Terrance so I would recommend booking this in advance of your stay should you wish to try it.

I would have to say that the only disappointing aspect of our stay at Atlantis were the gourmet restaurants. Yes they are expensive but I have no problem with a pricy meal so long as the experience is good. Unfortunately the food was average and not much better than the less formal and more casual Atlas Bar and Grill. The service was particularly poor at the Bahamian Club where it took 45 minutes to receive our drinks after ordering and then our meal arrived minus potatoes because the kitchen had run out. Additionally the restaurants are loud and not conducive to a romantic tete a tete.

Notwithstanding this, Atlantis Royal Towers was a wonderful experience. I would go again but my expectations regarding the food would be a lot lower.
